Learn the basics of needle felting to create a Santa, gnome or elf ornament! We'll use dyed woo lroving, natural curly locks and a pre-made cone shape to sculpt little fuzzy people with pointed hats. We'll talk about the mechanics of felting - how it works, what tools make it easier, and how to make shapes at home in the washing machine. You'll end up with one ornament measuring about four inches tall. No felting experience is required. Tickets available at studioagogo.yapsody.com
Use an upcycled sweater to hand-stich a 4-6" pumpkin for your fall decor. You'll learn simple hand-stitching techniques, including a running stitch, gathering stitch and ladder stitch. You'll also learn how to cut and square fabric using a rotary cutter and mat, and then how to stuff and close a three-dimensional object. We'll talk about how to make your own felted wool in the washing machine, and you can purchase more materials to make a whole patch of pumpkins at home, if you like.
Just $12 to make one pumpkin, with additional supplies available for $5 a kit. Buy your tickets early and save your seat through the link below.
Color choices will be orange, grey/tan, green or white with green or brown stems.
For adults and teens.
Sewing skills are not required. Participants should bring a pair of fabric scissors, but we will have scissors to share.
Make a fall banner or bunting flags using fabric collage. You'll design a banner or six mini-flags celebrating autumn, Halloween, Day of the Dead, Thanksgiving or whatever you like! Selecting from a variety of fall and Halloween fabrics, you'll fuse layers and shapes together with an iron, adding embellishments to create a colorful work of art to decorate your home for the season.
For adults and teens. $15, includes all supplies. Bring your own scissors if you wish, but everything will be provided.

Announcing a new series of holiday art classes at Dempsey's! Join us on Sunday afternoons to get crafty and have fun.
This month's project is fuzzy fall creatures- learn the basics of needle felting as you construct a felt ornament, pin cushion or card holder. Using wool roving, you'll start with a 4" felted ball , adding details to make something spooky or sweet. What will it be- a pumpkin, a bat, an owl, a monster? You decide!
Tickets are just $15 for everything you need to make one project. Go to our Facebook page to signup. Oh, yes, let me introduce myself- my name is Megan Moriarty; I'm an art educator and practicing artist going on 11 years now. I teach art around town, including at the Ohio Craft Museum, teacher development events and other fun places. You can find my work for sale at the Ohio Craft Museum gift shop, the Quilt Surface Design Symposium, Etsy and at craft fairs big and small.
Join us Friday, April 1, from 6-9 for the delightful sounds of the Brian Michael Smith Band. Their sound is a perfect compliment to the ambiance of Dempsey's. Wrap up the week with dinner, drink, and some great music. Here's what others had to say about Brian Michael Smith:
"With a velvet voice and Sinatra like mannerisms, (Brian Michael) Smith made you feel as if you returned to those magical years."
- A Tribute to Frank Sinatra, Midland Theatre, Newark Ohio
"Lead singer (Brian) Smith…has the striking voice, swagger and look of a member of the famous Rat Pack."
- David S. Owen, Bexley News
Our current manager, Heather, and her husband, Chef Noah (You might remember him from the opening of Dempsey's) will be leaving us at the end of the month and we want to give them the proper send off. Join us for LIVE Music, Karaoke, and an evening of stories. Columbus and Dempsey's has been their home for four years and we know that they consider all of us family. Goodbyes are forever, they instead are saying, "See Y'all Soon!"
